TIMI Risk Score for UA/NSTEMI Result
--
Formula
Sum of 7 independent prognostic variables (1 point each)Clinical Pearls
The TIMI Risk Score provides a simple, accurate method to categorize patients with UA/NSTEMI and help guide the use of therapies such as low-molecular-weight heparins, glycoprotein IIb/IIIa inhibitors, and early invasive strategies.
Limitations
It is a prognostic score and should be used alongside clinical judgment. The definition of "known CAD" (>= 50% stenosis) may not be known at presentation for all patients.
