Parkland Fluid Formula = 2 mL (Adult) or 3–4 mL (Pediatric) × Weight (kg) × %TBSA
Infusion: 50% in first 8 hours (from time of injury) + 50% in following 16 hours

The international standard for pediatric and adult burn size calculation, correcting the Wallace Rule of Nines for age-dependent head-to-body proportions.

Limitations

Calculates 2nd (partial thickness) and 3rd degree (full thickness) burns only; simple superficial erythema (1st degree sunburn) is excluded from TBSA calculations.
